Credit Card Balance

Might be worse trying to see if you can bank transfer the balance to preserve your savings etc, Im guessing you have a credit card with the same people you bank with?

I thought the OP stated it was from savings account, so that wouldn't allow a debit balance...

The fact no agreement can be found is irrelevant though - unfortunately this cannot be used as unenforceable, it could if you default the account and then they cannot supply a CCA but that's a risky game to play as your credit file will be screwed for 6yrs!

i was disputing interest they added to the account - will they screw up my credit file for this?

Quite the opposite, any markers on your credit file will be as a result of your refusal to pay. By offsetting, and making the payment your credit file should be updated to show that you have paid.

They shouldn't have put you into overdraft on your current account, most banks tend to avoid that as it is only displacing the problem.
