WEIRD:Paypal put money on hold although no dispute from the buyer?

Please could you help me with this one. We've sold something for £100. Sent special delivery, checked next day, shows delivered, so all ok. No feedback from the buyer though but not everybody leaves feedback nowadays. About five days later I get an email from paypal that they "sometimes need more information about transactions" and asking for tracking details(which I've given them but money still on hold) I didn't receive any complaint message from the buyer and it doesn't look like the buyer opened the dispute, I just can't understand what's happening and why and how do we get the money back..?:(

Ring them up if you've given them everything they asked for and nothing's happened. My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
I've had this, its just a random check, they release it pretty quickly when they have the details.kiwi_fruit wrote: »Please could you help me with this one. We've sold something for £100. I had something like this happen to me , luckily it was only for an item i sold for 5 pounds, it turned out that someone had used the buyers card details (fraud) and eventually the money was returned to the seller, i never got my money back as the buyer closed their account. Hopefully this is not the case with your buyer.0

Were you the seller or the buyer
If you were the seller then the funds were never returned to the buyer at all, so them closing their account made no difference and you could have appealed the hold merely by producing a proof of posting.
If you were the buyer then I don't quite follow.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks for replies guys. I've sent the tracking number 4 days ago, no money back so far. They're taking p*** aren't they. I sell loads of other stuff that is £5-£10 all the time and never send it recorded, so what would they do if I couldn't prove the item was delivered, give money back to buyer even though they received the item and never opened the dispute? :eek:0

Rang them today. They're absolute morons you wouln't believe it! Couldn't answer any of my questions or say anything for certain. Asked them "WHAT's the problem??" -"There might be various reasons" They can't even say WHY they've done it and what's wrong. They can't say if it's a buyer initiated claim or their own etc etc. Worst ever organisation I've EVEr came across.
Received email a few minutes ago. They need "we request that you provide a
front and back copy of the proof of postage for the package associated with
this claim. "
What the hell is that? The postal receipt which states exactly the same number I've given them already..?
Sorry. rant over.0
