car problems

My car is in the garage as it was towed there by the rac.The garage said that the injectors have gone and it will be £1400 to repair. I was unsure what to do scrap the car or go ahead with repair. The garage said that if I spent the £1400 my car would be mended.I said to them that is all I want to pay and was that a fixed price they said yes. They put in new injectors and took the car to main dealers to get them coded in.On the way back the car broke down and now will not start. The garage are now waiting for a disk from main dealers to go back to basics to find out what is wrong {their words}I do not want to pay anymore money than the £1400 on the car as I said to the garage when they first agreed to fix my car .The garage has had my car three weeks tomorrow.
I wish I had scraped the car and not agreed to the repair.

I'm not sure there is a 'right' answer to this one. My DS had a truck that broke down and spent 3 weeks in the garage before they decided it needed a new engine, he decided the truck wasn't worth spending money on and accepted an offer from the garage owner of £1,000 to buy the vehicle (they didn't charge for the work he'd already done); but the day after accepting the offer, a friend offered him £2k, so DS is now kicking himself for not asking around before accepting the first offer. He'd had lots of problems with the truck ever since he'd bought it, so we tried to tell him that the gear box could have clapped out the following week, you just never know, really.
I hope you find that there's a simple problem that's easily fixed.0
