Solicitors,How much?

Hi can any one offer advice on how much a solicitor would charge to sell my house only,and not to buy another property,as i will be renting?

  • Depending where you are and on it being a straight forward transaction without loads of enquiries from the otherside, I would say about £250-£300 + Vicious Added Tax (VAT). Phone around and get quotes, it should be cheaper for a sale than a purchase as their is not so much work involved. There will be a charge for transferring the money to your account, normally £25-£40 extra unless your solicitor just sends you a cheque.

    If you google 'online conveyancing', some online companies will give an instant quote. Check the breakdown of the quote though as sometimes they don't include costs for searches, disbursements etc.
