Where's best for a new 'entry level' pc?

Am looking for a new pc - Dell have a sale on at the moment and the basic one is only £249 with free upgrade to 15" flat monitor, 2.53ghz, 256mb memory, 80gb hard drive.cd-re/dvd. free delivery and printer.

Does anyone know of a better deal please?

Also, what are people's experiences of Dell? Good or bad!

    Hi Thomthom

Had my dell for about 2 yrs - never had a problem with it.

The one you are looking to buy is actually a good deal - BUT -like everything else, it all depends on what you want to do with it.
If you just want to use the net and things like OFFICE (Word etc) I would say its adequate. If you are planning on playing games etc then maybe not ideal on this.

Ive not seen anything that is as good as this deal around at the moment -you forgot to mention the wireless keyboard and mouse too!

Im no expert but I hope this helps.

  • Excellent deal, if just for browsing the internet, documents etc. You don't say which model it is? The 1100, 3100 are fine for this.

If you have more to spend I would look at something like this, faster processor, more mem, graphics card and 19" monitor, better for gaming.

    Hope this helps
  • Thx For The Replies. The Price Is The Starting Price For Both The 1100 And The 3100 - Strange, I Know, Seem To Be Slight Differneces In Specs.

possibly due to the fact that the 3100 has a tft and the other has a crt monitor?

I can confirm that that 3100 has a TFT - dont know about the other so Im just guessing.
