Monitor/no signal

Hope some body can offer some help with this please.
Monitor Acer P233W LCD
Plugged into my computer and got a no signal message on screen.
Graphics card is a Radeon HD 4850 with two DVI outlets
What I have tried graphics card DVI to monitor DVI = no signal
Graphics card DVI with vga adapter to monitor VGA= no signal
Tried on another computer with a GE Force 6200 One DVI one VGA outlets
Plugged into vga worked a treat but did not try the DVI.
Not sure what to try now so am stuck.

    the comp that aint working - does that have inbuilt graphics - if it does you have turn off the inbuilt adapter in the bios of the computer.

    Does the PC boot up OK, i.e. can you hear it give the 'beep' as it passes POST?

    not checked that but computer works ok with a CRT monitor and a DVI/VGA adapter.

    Solved at last. What I have done is the computer with the Radeon HD 4850 graphics card which has two DVI out sockets is as follows.
    I have used an adaptor to convert one DVI to VGA and plugged that into the monitor.
    The other DVI I have plugged straight into the monitor and yes it works.
