Bathroom fitted on the cheap?

My free local paper always has ads from people claiming they can do 'like for like' plumbing on new bathroom suites for £199 - one out, one in. This sounds suspiciously cheap, so does anyone have any experience of this? Are there any telltale signs that they're cowboys? Some claim to be able to do a whole new bathroom for £399!

How much would this 'normally' cost with an established plumber, assuming there are no major issues to contend with?

Cheers

Straight swap bathrooms in a like for like position cost around £300-£400 in labour and material,Based on current quotes i am giving

For that you get approx 8hrs labour, all pipework in soldered copper,New traps, wastes ,pan connectors and solvent weld waste pipe.Bath siliconed sealed to walls/tiles with Dow corning silicone and bathpanel fitted

The £199 price suggests that there in and out and re-use exisitng traps etc

The price above would included no other works such as tiling, boxing in etc

You are better with recommendations when it comes to water, check current trade certs and ensure the tradesman has insurance

The guy who does my plumbing charges around £250 for a straight swap. Thats for labour only, the client or I supply the sanitary ware.

I would guess that the £199 price will always have some extra's added to it so it might not end up being alot cheaper than a decent tradesman who give an upfront, all in price like andyhop.
