Yellow flowers are poppies and white ones i believe are "wild garlic". Easy to tell, they have a strong smell of garlic......sorry if that is not the case.0

Thanks for your time. Some interesting replies.
Yes, I think the yellow flowered is a yellow poppy but the white flowered smells mildly scented (not garlicky) so I opt for the sweet woodruff answer.0 -
I always called the yellow poppies Welsh Poppies. You will never, ever get rid of them unless you religiously dead head every single one every time.

I agree they are lovely. My mum and aunt have gardens full and for they last 5 years or so I have collected seeds, seed pods and even dug up whole plants and sprinkled them in my borders but not a single plant come up of any colourDoing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me0 -
I love the Welsh Poppy and they are popping up everywhere. They are not considered a "wild" plant. If you like them save the dry seed heads and throw the contents around the garden. And, oh how I wish I knew how to get a picture on the forum. Yours are great.0

I've been reading about poppies and their uses. Apparently, the seeds are edible? If so,this would be an interesting way to prevent the poppies spreading. Anybody done this with my type of pictured poppy?
Jake's Gran - The pictures do look "great"; somebody did them for me (they uploaded the pictures to their own website).0
