Why was I refused?

I used to have a rubbish credit score, refused for everything, but I wisened up and stopped applying for things, and I recently took out the 30 day free Credit Expert trial. I had a look at my score, which was classed as 'Good', so why, when I applied for a Sainsbury's CC was I refused? Do some companies only accept people with impeccable credit scores? And if that's the case, any idea who the more 'lenient' companies are? I have an OD with Barclays, and I want to transfer it onto a 0% (or as close as poss) card, and hopefully then build up my credit score even more.

Thanks!

What credit cards do you have? If you do have some, what are the credit limits and amount used?

I don't have any at all.

  • Sainsbury’s is a difficult credit card to get for some people, I would advise you to apply for a capital one visa or Barclays ’visa as you have more chance of being accepted.
Once you get a visa and pay on time, then apply for a Sainsbury’s visa after about six months and you might be lucky.

Oh fab, I didn't particularly need a Sainsbury's one, it was just one of the first I came across. I'll try for the Capital One card.

    Thanks!
