Please PM me if you think you can help....Re-Purchasing a car from a dealership and there being completely different legal document supplied with the car after sale than was present and viewed by me before the sale, which induced me to buy.

THANKS :D

Would this be the same different legal document produced after the sale that you would of signed at the point of sale?

No it's a completely different service history to that which was with the car before I bought which, helped induced me to buy, the one with the car now would have warned me off!!

  • Do you mean they faked a service history?

Did the first one have reg number written in it?

Feel a right idiot but didn't look too carefully for the reg no. on the booklet just assumed as it was within the car tucked up neatly with the driver and audio manual in the vauxhall wallet in the glove compartment it related to that vehicle just had a cursory glance but all seemed in order noticed 3 yrs of service stamps were from their operative in leics.
This one doesn't have any registration mark on it though:confused:?!

    Could be I suppose?
It states, within an area on the 3rd service page, that the toothed belt was changed at 50141 miles date 20/9/08, although mileage is written over tippex?! and the car when it was serviced recently once I decided to buy (having view this other SH within the car at the time I drove it) was at 50408 11/5/09 ; so in 7 and a half months the car has apparently done only 267 miles if we do have the right car?!!

  • Did you buy it on the same day as you 1st saw the service book?

  • Manuals & Packs go in & out of cars all the time in a big dealers.

Sales people are the worst at putting things back.

You might have the wrong book.

Anyways from the other posts you have made I dont think an Astra with 50k on it is going to be damaged in value when you get rid of it in a whiles time.

Its just one of them things.

You could try gross misrepresentation but I doubt you have a chance.

    You signed for it.

Why dont you just go & have a word with them.

Yeah will broach this with them tomorrow.

Was thinking it would lose value if I can only present this very poor service history.
The service booklet I have found in the wallet with no registration mark states 1st service on 8/6/06 (car registered June 05, so one year on) mileage given is 15382, what is worrying is that the next service no.2 not done until 18 months later on 4/12/07 at mileage 48940!!! Service booklet states service should be done after 1 year / 20,000 as per service interval displayed since previous services, which means car went 18 months and 33,000 miles without a service?!!!! Presuming I now have the correct SH and it relates to this car?!
