Brixham PCN despite website advice

I visited Brixham this morning to walk part of the South West Coast path. Before leaving from home I researched free car parks, the Council website (Torbay parking charges) states that parking is free in Brixham central car park on Sundays.
I arrived early (around 0930), scrutinised the ticket machine which was unclear if it was free on a Sunday, then decided to abide by the council website advice.
When I returned I discovered a £50 ticket on my car.
Does anyone else feel it is unfair and I should appeal on the grounds that the Council website states parking is free on a Sunday?
Thanks
Paul

The usual advice is to post photo's of the machine and any signs and lines as well as a depersonalised copy of both sides of the ticket. I assume the ticket was actually from Brixham council and not a PPC trying it on.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
