UPVC Door Key stuck in the lock

I had a new UPVC Door fitted a couple of days ago when all seemed to be working fine. However I went out this morning to get a newspaper and on return the key stuck in the lock. I managed to open the door but the key is stuck half way in the lock and will not budge despite trying to twist it, even WD40 will not budge it. Luckily I can actually lock the door from inside so at least its fairly secure.
The window fitters do not work sunday and I have been quoted £93 call out charge to get a locksmith out so have decided against such action. Does anyone know of any way of getting the key out of the lock, it seems to be about half way in the lock and upside and has rotated about 1/2 a turn.
I intent calling the window fitters first thing tommorrow morning but would like to get the key out of the lock if possible today. Any help would be appreciated.

I would say turning it back 180 and pulling it may work or failing that just snap the bit of key off if you can lock it from the inside and get them back to it, sounds to me that the barrel has failed anyway.0

You want to try and "vibrate" the key to see if you can release it.
Tap it gently with a hammer several times using a piece of wood or something between the key and the hammer, try wiggling the key around and then try and remove the key.
Doesn't always work but worth a go.0 -
how did you get on with this problem?0
