Hi
I have an Ikasu 8GB MP4 player and am trying to use the memorycard expansion to increase the size of my player. I have bought Sandisk 1,2 and 4GB Mirco SD/TF cards and am able {by putting the card into the player copy and paste the tunes to the card}. The tunes show on the card but after I "Update media" as I am prompted to do nothing shows on the MP4 player {not even the card} I have tried Ikasu tech but am getting no reply can anyone please tell me am I doing something wrong or could this be a fault with the player as I am {with the adaptor able to play what is on the card {both MP3 and WMA} on other audoi that I have. The Ikasu player does state that it will play both MP3 and WMA files
Any help or advise would stop me pulling out what little hair I have left
Regards

Ha, Ha, very funny but only to be expected from idiots that have no answer to a straight question. If I wanted an iPod I would have got one but as most iPods are rubbish for the price and cannot be expanded it was of no use to me.
If you don't know the answer to a straight question try butting out0 -
lol sorry m8.
I read the instruction manual for it earlier on , and it doesn't go into great detail about the expansion slot. just bascally telling how to put the card in. i would phone them up and ask them , as it could be a faulty one/batch.
By the sounds of what you are doing everything seems right, which is the strange part. But worth phoneing them.
And yes The price you pay for Ipods is ott (over the top) i paid £180 for a 120gb Classic Version. I Could buy 2TB HDDS for that and then some. lol Your Paying for the name rather then the hardwarePeter: Hey Lois... what's this word? Lois: Evil. Peter: And this one? Lois: Knievel. Looks like you have to live with your mistakes then and I hope you can't take it back. My opinion seems to be the only active help you are going to get, what if I said nothing you would be back crying for help. Other's will read this and know you as a newbie and a !!!!. Special offers and cheap imports are not the way to go, Apple and a few others make great products buy them.
If I made crampo laugh thats great, hope I tickled you too.
MP3 and WMA files are not MP4 file types you would have to convert or a find a driver. My nano plays mp4 just great.0 -

I asked a straight forward question, that was all. I have posted this question on a number of forums without any reply {and no I have not gone back crying for help} I ask a question, if I do not get an answer thats ok at least I ask. I have an iPod {along with a number of MP4 players} Personaly I do not like iPods for a number of reasons. Thyis MP4 player does play MP3 and WMA it is just expanding it that will not work. I will keep trying but I do ask {nicely} that {regarding any techquestion I ask} if you do not know just leave it0 -

I think I will try what you say and see if the company can sort me out

Hi LOndon
I brought this player yesterday - its the Aldi Tevion branded model but its exactly the same as yours. Its a very nice bit of kit and sounds as good as my Sony mp3 player and way better than the ipods - but then again I do have decent headphones as its always best to ditch the ones supplied.
Yep Im a newbie but that doesn't mean at my age and love for gadgets I don't know what Im on about.
As for your problem - the player will accept an 8gb card irespective of what the manual says. On mine I cant see music files on my card either unless I go into dir view and choose sd card - the files dont appear anywhere else. This is a trifle annoying but at £50 for a super 3" screen mp4 player I can't argue.0 -

Hi Despot
Thak you for your input:beer: . I did get intouch with the company and they have explained {as you have} just what I needed to do. As you know the instructions are not clear regarding how to both view and select on the card but like you say if you can buy these for under £50 I think it is not a bad choice. I do have a number of 4/2/1GB micro cards to transfer my music to but it is good to know that you can expand up to 8GB card and I will get some of those soon. I can see before long 50 or 60 thousand tunes being carried around on one single card a quater of the size of a postage stamp {and that will suit me}. Like you I dumped the headphones and use good quality one for better sound
Thanks again
