to Westminster Abbey, then to Picadilly Circus then to the Ritz.
I'm assuming it will be the underground but Mum is disabled (walks with sticks) and need to know the best routes.

Hey Tony.
I agree with Richard - your Mum will almost certainly be better off on a bus - many underground stations (including Kings Cross) involve steps at some point, and if she's on sticks, that's going to be no fun at all.
The other bonus of bus travel is that you get to play "Spot the Landmark" which is much more fun than "spot the mouse" while you're waiting for the next tube

Hi Tony,
Westminster Underground Station is now disabled-friendly so the only problem would be the two staircases at Kings Cross to get to the Circle Line platform there. You can then bus it easily to Piccadilly Circus and then down Piccadilly to the Ritz (which is next to Green Park).
One good tip to get into Central London with no/few steps is to get off at Finsbury Park, change to a Moorgate train (same platform) to Highbury and Islington then change to a Victoria Line train (same platform) and you can get down to Green Park (one staircase) that way.
Never get a Taxi from King's Cross Taxi Rank (Platform 1). Cross the road outside and hail one there. It will save you about 10 minutes and at least £5!
Hope it goes well - I used to commute daily from Biggleswade
