Cashback site not allowing existing quotes

Hi!

CAn anyone advise or help? Trying to get a cheap car insurance quote following the instructions in the insurance section...ie using all the compare websites. When I then go to cashback site to try to retrieve the quote I am unable to do so. I then need to apply for a new quote. The first quote through comparison site was £214 the new one with same broker direct was over £500 with the same details entered!
Post Office actually says that cashback will not be paid on existing quotes.

This seems to have closed the door to obtaining cashback on the best quote given through comparison sites.

Has anyone else encountered this problem....and have you found any way around this! ?

I want my cashback as well as best quote!!

Retrieving exisiting quotes via cashback sites will invalidate the cashback, so one way or the other, you are going to have to do a new quote via the cashback site.

Been 6 months since I needed to do a cashback quote and didnt encounter your problems at the time, so can't offer any work arounds, apart from clear you cookies and temp internet files and start again.

Have you cleared your cookies?
If you've visited the site before then cookies (a small software programme) will have been placed on your computer so that if you visit again they know.
Cashback sites are notorious for not paying out in these circumstances.
You must clear your cookies immediately before going to the cashback site.

I will keep trying! but it seems that the best quotes through the comparison sites are not able to be retrieved. The landing page at the broker from cashback site only allows for new quotes...which are extortionate! :mad:

i too have noted that sometimes the quotes from cashback sites for the same insurance an be higher than that obtained from comarision sites and yes from about end of last year. maybe its the companies waking up to the reality that people do shop around and cashback site are getting popular.

Check on the Post Office website (not the price comparison site) that all the details are correct for the first quote. There is too much of a different there is be a discount for using a price comparison website. Also check that the level of cover is the same.
