Hello, I hope someone who maybe has found themself in a similar situation can help me with this problem.
Basically a few days ago I bought a phone off someone, paid using Paypal, which has my debit card registered on it so the money came straight from my bank account. The next day I emailed him as I saw he had the same phone for sale again, a day later and he is no longer registered. He had decent feedback, around 150 at about 97-98% and had sold expensive things before like cars/motorbikes/phones.
Now he did have some negative feedback with items not turning up, however from what I read from the comments the buyers were offered a full refund. I took a risk which I now know was silly of me to do.
Anyway, I've put a claim in with Paypal. I've only ever had to put in a claim in with Paypal once before, for an item which was worth around £10, and was told by Paypal that as the seller had no funds in their account I would not be getting that money back.
This time however the phone is worth a lot more, so my question is am I likely to get this money back? Or is it just a case of a seller having to empty their paypal account and they get away with it?
I've spoken to my bank who say the transaction has gone through and cannot be reversed. Any advice would be really appreciated :beer:
