bad treatment by halifax

hi all. my first time on here. i have had a bank occount with halifax for about 20 years now,my mortgage is with halifax and has been for nearly 3 years now and never missed a payment,i have a loan with the halifax for the last 4 years nearly and have never missed a payment, i have building and contents insurance with halifax for the last 3 years and have never missed a payment,i have a credit card with halifax and although i have made a few payments late am completely up to date. i also have an agreed overdraft limit of £2500 and have had this for a while. last weekend they decided to reduce my overdraft by half to £1250. we were below our limit by around £200 but are now £1050 over our limit. i called the halifax and was told that i had an overdraft review on 9thmay and they reduced my limit. we had no letter telling us about this review at all. i stated this and the reply was that it is on my statements which it is in very small letters but it doesnt state that it may be being reduced. i am pyed weekly straight into my account and last week my wages were swallowed by the overdraft leaving us broke, it will be the same this week and also the evening job my wife gets paid for but this will bring us below our new limit. they have now added £170 of charges for payments made and for being over our overdraft limit. we can pay these without to much trouble by being skint for the month but we will then be £1250 less in debt so its not all bad. do you think its worth calling the halifax and try to get these charges removed?. we have had charges removed before when we called as we are 'valued customers'. we have not had any charges on our account for over 6months. every other loan/debt we have is bang up tp date with no missed payments. i think the halifax are wrong for doing this and causing us more debt. what can i do about it? cheers all.

give it a go, call them, what have you got to lose.. if they say that they wont remove the charges, you will be no worse off....i do know what you mean though, about the halifax, im with them and they really try to hit me as much as they can on every single thing....maybe its because i won my charges againtst them for the bank charges and ppi..or maybe, its just because they are the same as every other bankCorduroy pillows are making headlines! Bloody Halifax, surely they have to properly notify you in writing, of the new limit and give you enough time to do something about it. Is there anyone on here who knows a bit more about this subject, more on the legal side of things, surely this cant be allowed? x2012 Wins - Danepak Fridge Magnet, £20 Just Eat Voucher, iTunes Song Download, Yellow Toaster and Kettle, Thorntons Bunny, 6 Months Gym Membership, £250 Multipower Products, 3 X Dalepak Vouchers, 10 minute sunbed session, Lucozade Sport, 2 X BMI Flights, Android Zeemote,0

i might be one of the lucky ones because so far they have gave my charge back but that could be because its my first and only time i have gone over but they did try to charge me £35 because they had to pay 14p out and a further £28 for going over my overdraft and i was only informed on my internet banking. when my mortgage was up for renewal there was a hidden cost of £600 to stay with them..SHAME ON THEM!!!!!!!!!!!my old dad always said never trust a banker or a politician.........:mad:0
