Heres some reviews to start you off ~

    Basics are thus ~
You get what you pay for. If there are 2 systems, ones a 2 channel and ones a 5.1 and theyre the same price then the 2 channel should almost certainly SOUND better. But it wont provide surround sound clearly.
I wouldnt touch an all in 1 personlly as if the dvd/bluray player fails then the system becomes useless
A LOT of these systems dont have many (Or sometimes ANY!) extra inputs. make sure it has what you require (An optical in for a PS3 for example)
Makes id consider are Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, LG, Philips and Onkyo (Make sure you find reviews on them though by googling. Theres one particular Samsung for example thats so bass heavy that everyones whos bought one has ended up throwing them away!)

Have a look at the separates in Richer Sounds before buying a one box system. I've had two (a Venturer from Tesco, and a Samsung from John Lewis) fail totally, and with very light use.

If you do go for a one box, consider buying it from RS and getting the 5 year Supercare for 10% on top; I suspect you'll need it!
