Bought tickets way under face value seller wants to cancel transaction

Hi,
I won two tickets on ebay which sold for way under their face value. I emailed the seller asking if he had the tickets in hand. He opened a non paying bidder despute today and asked to cancel the transaction as he was selling the tickets for a friend who didn't want to sell them anymore. I thought he was trying to pull a fast one so I have cancelled his offer to close the auction and paid through paypal for the tickets.
What should I do now? Does he have to send me the tickets? Will I get refunded through paypal he doesn't?
Thank you.

He doesn't have to send you the tickets - in the sense that nobody can actually physically make him. Contact him and see what he says now.
I'd be inclined to think he wanted a lot more for them so he's pulling out, very unfair on you.
If he doesn't get back to you or doesn't send the tickets, open a dispute with paypal, from what i've heard, they usually always go in the favour of the buyer so can't see you having a problem.
 Think happy & you'll be happy

After 7 days from payment you can open an item not receievd claim on paypal and they will refund your money approx 10 days later assuming seller can't show he delivered them to you.
However you can't make him sell but once it is all resolved you can leave feedback, and I owuld take the opportunity to reflect your experience correctly in that feedback.
Personally though I would not have paid, he isn't going to send the tickets and as he had tried getting you to agree to a mutual he can no longer get you on an NPB.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks both. They refunded me the money back.i open a case to say i have cancel the the sale and you then pay for this item i am not able to sale the tickets as the person i was saling them for has die
I find this very hard to believe as they have been trying to sell these tickets five times before for £125 a ticket BIN. But they sell for £25 each at auction they can't sell them anymore.
Should I just move on? Is there anything else I can do other than leave neg feedback?0 -
You should leave neg feedback as your seller just wanted more money for them. I would not personally believe that your seller's friend has died. Any more than I would believe you if you said your cat bid on the tickets. Those are two of the oldest ebay stories in the book!0

Can I still report her for being a non performing seller? If so where's the link? I can't find it

I think you missed an opportunity here:
I would have emailed and asked if there was some middle point that you could meet at to get a deal done .
Cut off your nose to spite your face comes to mind here.0 -
I am not buying off someone who refuses to complete the auction at the end price. I have lost money before on eBay and still continued with the sale.
Plus I am not completing an auction outside of eBay with someone who behaves like this and lies.
If there was middle ground she would have to admit that her friend hasn't actually died. It would be like the resurrection all over again.0 -

So the scenario you suggest then is to agree a middle ground away from ebay, pay by paypal and then wait for the tickets? When tickets fail to show you are doing an old fashioned paypal claim which requires the seller to have funds in their account in order to repay the buyer, so buyer could lose the lot.
Hardly cutting your nose off to spite your face, I wouldn't risk losing money on a seller that is not overly bright.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. You could get them to re-list as a buy it now for a set price ...Not really to hard ..as long as a deal is what you want .0
