Which cheque does it trigger to send a new cheque book?

Cheque books are automatically sent when a certain cheque is processed - for example the 13th cheque in the book. Does anyone know which cheque it normally is?

What I was told many years ago was to always use the cheques from the back of the book first and then to work towards the front.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

It's whichever cheque your bank has decided on as the trigger so, if you really need to know ask them.

Why do people ask questions like this on an internet forum when a simple question to the bank, in this case, would give them a correct answer?

Were you given any indication as to why?

I can only think it was to avoid the possibility that someone had stolen the last cheque and used it fraudulently with the idea that you would take some time to realise it was missing.
