I have a Sony Vaio laptop with Vista which I've had since December.
Recently the keyboard has been playing up.
For example as I'm typing this the cursor will jump backwards and I end up typing in the middle of the sentence above or it will suddenly highlight the sentence I am typing and delete the ******* thing as IT IS DOING NOW.
Not only is it driving me crazy but I've got a second job taking minutes so I need to rely on the damn thing.
Can anyone help before I throw it against the wall????

I also have a Vaio. I hope this doesn't sound too obvious but it sounds as though as you are typing you are also unintentionally operating the touch pad.0

What scotsbob suggests is quite likely to be the problem - some touchpads work by capacitance, and they can be so sensitive that they can operate without you even touching them.
If the laptop was supplied with a touchpad setup utility, you may be able to reduce the sensitivity, or turn off "touch clicking". Otherwise you may have to go into the BIOS to turn it off.0 -
Since writing my las answer, I have worked out what you need to do (only had my Vaio 2 weeks so it took me a while)
Bottom right corner of screen on toolbar there is an icon for touchpad/double click it/go to heading that says "tapping"/ensure that the box which. says "tap off when typing" has a tick in it.
You should now be able to enjoy your Vaio and your wall will be safe0 -
So obvious I couldn't see it.
THANK YOU! What a relief.0
