Well Done Co-op

I would just like to say how impressed I am with the Co-op's Bag policy. They provide what seems to be normal plastic bags, for free, but they are 100% degradable. The message on them informs you that they are degradable but that does not mean you can't use them again.

Now this is the way to do it!! Make them degradable and give you the chance to re-use them as you see fit and at no extra cost. No shoving ridiculous bandwagon eco Bulls**t down your throat and realising that most people were re-using these bags long before the eco bandwagon warriors ever first thought about it!!!

I say very well done indeed Co-op!!!!:T:beer:

  • Our co-op doesn't even offer a carrier bag now, they serve you then turn to the next person.

i just put what i can in my handbag, as i don't buy many items if i go in co-op its a sudden decision, im getting into the habit of taking my own bags now for planned shopping trips.

your lucky at your co-op still then.

I do like the co-op because it started the labeling policy - where meat was sourced from etc.

There is bio-degradable & bio-degradable .ie some plastics break down into a million pieces, but it's still present for thousands of years, so until I know which type it is I'll still take my own canvas bags for shopping. And even when I do know, I'll still take my own bag, as it's not a big problem to provide my own.

they also have ingredients on their own brand wine - which most manufacturers dont - as i have allergies this is quite importantant - having had a problem with a glass of co-op wine (at a friends house) i was able to see what caused the problem and choose wine without .. that said it was the first wine i had an allergy problem with!

also they were lovely on bank holiday monday, when i spent 4 hours trying to unblock a sink - with no sucess:mad:) i turned up just as they were leaving - bank hol forgotten due to domestic crisis! i asked if they knew of anywhere still open i could get mr muscle sink unblocker and they gave me a bottle - i offered £5 and told them to put the change in the charity tin - but the manger said she could not do that and to call in the following evening and see her to pay rather than get a plumber on a bank holiday evening:j:j

    nice one co-op:j:j

caring attitude not generally seen today:j i am one very satisfied customer!!
