I bought 2 organic peat free growing bags at B&Q (Loughborough) today. Price should have been £1.28 each but went through the till at 63p each. Thats cheap for a full size growbag. I'm tempted to go back and stock up. I don't know whether this is a national price though.I don't believe it!0

Alternatively, many local councils give this stuff away for free (my local council does). Give them a ring before spending money at B&Q. You'll need the Parks and Recreation Department. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

And unfortunately many don't. Last time I looked our council's compost was more expensive than buying peat compost from a diy store. And somebody told me the other day, don't know how true it is, that they had landfilled 50 tonnes because they couldn't sell it! How bloody stupid is that? I sometimes wonder what we pay our council tax for. Grrrr! This post will end up on the vent board if I go on :-)Joe
