Broadband speed

Hi
About to move house to a place in the sticks. Cursory checks seem to suggest that the location is quite far from a non-unbundled exchange.
The speed looks like it is "up to 512kps" based upon online comparisons.
We use broadband for surfing as well as connected up for some online gaming through PS3 and PC.
Any ideas if this lower speed broadband will make online gaming a thing of the past for us?

If you have slower speeds and longer latency, it certainly won't improve matters.
It's impossible to say whether or not your move means you won't be able play online. You'll just have to try and see.0 -

Thanks. Guess not much else to do. Just wondered if there were "minimum specs" when it comes to online.
Ultimately, we are not going to pull out of buying our dream house for lack of broadband but it is frustrating that it is so slow.0 -

and your IPS may have a forum (tiscali, TT certainly do, prob others as well)
Obviously you will be absolutely limited by line length and quality, but you can often make the most out of what you have with a few tweaks here and there
Use samknows's mapping engine for a pretty accurate view of what you could get in your new location......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0
