Storage tank overflow/warning pipes into gutter or not

Cant say what the regulations would say, but a you have posted a few times on this board
would be willing to bet , you would want to know if there was a problem in the loft! So its option 2

Not sure about your regs down south but it would certainly be against water bye laws up here - any overflow from a tank/storage cistern has to be visible when overflowing and ideally in a place it would cause most nuisance i.e. above a door or sim - the reason for this is to conserve water - if its left flowing into a gutter there could be thousands of gallons of water being wasted through the region with people just letting it run into it - also if you cant see it going into the gutter you wouldn't realise there was a problem. The greter the nuisance the more chance of getting it fixed

- The overflow pipe must maintain a continuous fall
- It must protrude from the property in a conspicuous location in order to allow an overflow of water to be spotted immediately
