While they are finding a cure for cancer ask your self this, who builds the building to which they are working in? yep you got it a builder and a it had better be a good one, (and at £180 a day he should be) as you wont want the roof to fall on your head now would you? its not just a matter of nailing pieces of wood together, there is in fact a science to it,
I think you're getting 'builder' confused with 'architect', 'structural engineer', 'building inspectorate' etc.0 -

after all the running of the business cost come out from my hourly rate I EARN £10/£15ph Im happy with that and so are my customers and if either of us isnt happy then we both have the option to go else where.
Both employed and self employed workers have to pay deductions and expenses from their gross pay before they take it home. I wonder how much someone commuting to their London office actually sees after paying for travelling expenses etc out of their salary?0 -
Tradesman are now throwing their toys out of the pram because they realise they cannot charge silly prices anymore and get away with it.
Mr Chippy, It is a buyers market - get competative or go bankrupt. It is as simple as that.
I don't give a rats a$$ that it costs you £10 in diesel to come and give me a quote. Just tell me your price.
I will then haggle, knock a further 10% off the price and pay you when I am ready.
Why would I do this? Because for the next few years I CAN. You may not accept my terms, but I guarantee someone will. After all you need me more than I need you.0 -
