Freedom Pass 24 hours extension?

I've just heard from a friend that the Freedom Pass, for over 60's was extended so we can travel at peak times (before 9am) since the 1st April 2009.
That means I've spent over £75 extra on travel, as I didn't know! :hello:
Do you think I will be able to claim this back?
Thanks

The answer unfortunately is a two letter word.0

Do you live in a London borough? If not, it doesn't apply any way.
How would you persuade London Transport And that you personally had paid the £75 for your personal travel?
I don't see why an OAP should be a special case in being able to make a claim. If a 40-y-o paid too much - say by buying a ticket for Zones 1-6 when they only needed 1-2, do you think they would get a refund a month later?0 -

Yes, I live in a London borough.
I've used a Oyster card, so they can print out a statement of my payments and travelling from A to B.
Well OAP's living on a pension, don't get much you know. :think:0 -

They have no way of telling if you've lent your Oyster (quite legitimate) to someone under 60.
Spose it might be worth a try but I'm sure they'll either ignore you to tell you to **** off. OK maybe a bit more politely than that.0 -
Not knowing about a particular benefit be it to do with Freedom passes or welfare benefits won't entitle you to a refund or backdating unfortunately.
Best just to be happy that the travel time limits were removed from freedom passes, thus putting an end to the twirly's. :rotfl:
It was quite well publicised in the press & on the news before it came into effect plus there were, & still are, notices on some buses & at some stations with the information. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
If you're only living on your pension and not a working OAP why do you need to travel so early?0
