Remote Garage Doors

Options
Anyone know how much electric garage doors cost? The ones where you press a button and they slide/roll up?

Thanks
Shanni

    Hello Shanni

You want to do a Simpsons then? ;D

We have a remote garage door, the type that rolls up. It cost an arm and a leg to install (~7 years ago by Gliderol) but it's been brilliant, especially for Mrs Nile who struggled to lift the door up before it was motorised.

  • Earlier this year Aldi had a mechanism for changing your up & over type garage door to a remote controlled one. I can't remember the price (pretty sure under £150). If you're not in a hurry, they often repeat their offers.

Best part of our new extension, the door!!

Roller shutter - closes into 30'cm space, above the opening - means you have a clear ceiling/lights inside!!

Give Gary a call at Luton Garage Doors. Never dealt with them, previously, but a small, established company.

01582 720573 They cover a good area, so depending on your location, probably be able to help.

Ours is from Seceuroglide & seems they have a good reputation, within their industry.

Take no notice of list prices - he WILL do you a deal!!

Have you got a ballpark figure for a motorised roller-shutter door? And was it single or double? I'm interested but don't want to go through the hassle of getting someone to quote if it's likely to be extortionate.

  • A 9ft wide Hormann sectional door should be circa £1250-£1500. Had one fitted about 7 years ago and it's been outstanding. Made in Germany so very well screwed together and virtually silent.
