Getting Egg to charge back transaction

Could someone please advise me.
Last year in Sept, we booked a hire car through herz over the internet, super insurance was declined and card details were entered. On arrivial in france they changed the booking to include the super insurance and charged our card, there was a language barrier, no pin was entered, just asked to sign a few things, didn't know at the time they had added the super insurance on, until we got our card statement and saw 2 hertz transactions, both amounts are for just under £300, we thought our card had been charged twice but it turns out one is when we booked the car over the internet and the other charge was done in france for a similar amount which is just for the poxy super insurance.
I have contacted egg a couple of time and they have finally sent us copies of the transactions just this month, with a form for me to sign saying we reconise them. Not sure what to say as i feel we were misled, not knowing the card had been charged and that they changed the booking details. We have been paying interest on this amount since september. Should we just give up?

i would personally fill the form in and be honest on what you write, you may get them refund but if you dont fill it in they wont ever refund you and you will never know if they would refund you
what will you gain in not doing the form an hour or so tops?? is it really worth not filling in TBHplease just thank me

i don't mind filling the form in, they just want the dates/value etc but wondered what else i should write to explain, i've done a draft and have said what happened, but wondered if i need to include anything else and what my rights are. Have contacted hertz but they aren't interested.0

Unfortunatly you actually have no rights as you have signed the forms, even if you didn't know what you were signing, and it's unlikely you will succeed with the chargeback, but that does not mean I wouldn't try.
You need to 'prove' that you were missold the insurance and signed under duress, even then that isn't really a valid chargeback reason, but I would give it a go, you might get a result. These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!
I don't know everything, however I do try to point people in the right direction but at the end of the day you can only ever help yourself!0 -
You agreed to pay so should pay.
Don't sign or agree to things you don't/can't understand and then expect the taxpayer banks to pickup the bill.0
