Hi,
My free trial of System Mechanic 8 has just expired and whilst I liked having on my computer, I'm loathed to pay for the full version.. I've looked on Major Geeks for freeware alternatives and there seems to be 4 packages that will do the job:
Thanks

What is/are the special feature(s) about System Mechanic that makes you want to use it?
There may be products other than those you suggest which would satisfy your desires...0 -
I use advanced system care (formally advanced windows care) and it's good. I had been advised that Glary is not so hot. I don't know about Comodo (I thought it was a firewall).0

Hi John,
It's the one click solution of optimising the system that appeals most. I tended to use the registry defrag/ back up, hard drive defrag and the tool to remove old temp files/ junk files most. I also found it useful to use the hard drive checkdisk function as I don't know how to run this directly from Windows.

CCLEANER is the seafest. I use Glary and its very useful and very powerful for free. Comodo nearly killed someones computer a while back.
Id say use CCLEANER 'only' unless you need some specific job doing?:idea:0 -
I use CCleaner aswell as advanced systemcare free. I use CCleaner everyday but only use systemcare once in a while. Both work well0
