That's quite a low budget for a VERY expensive hobby. You can either buy a brand new semi-slr such as the Fuji S5800 or you could look for used SLR's on eBay made by brands such as Canon.

Hi bowling, Many thanks. I should point out that this is just a starter camera to get to grips with basics etc, I will invest in a more expensive camera and equipment as I move forward with it :)

That's not enough money. A starter camera, if you're interest in photography, will be alot more than £100.
You can't get to grips with the basics on a camera that doesn't have the features you want to get to grips with.

Could someone maybe suggest a good starter camera then? My budget isn't fixed but I don't want to spend a great deal if I can spend less, just incase I don't enjoy it as much as I think I will ;)

    Thanks :)

Hiya. I've not long started in photography myself and bought a DSLR for nearly £500!! It's brilliant but not always practical to carry around when climbing mountains and hiking so I bought a Samsung L313. This has 13.6 megapixels and a wide angle lens. My main subjects are landscapes and close ups and it is bangon so far. i bought it in Argos for £100 reduced from £200. Might be worth a look for you. Search goodle for reviews etc. Also look for reviews for L310. same spec just different outer case.

Also the 'for dummies' range do Digital photography. They also do one for specific DSLRs when/if you want to move up to these. I bought one and it's fab.

You could even perhaps buy a cheap film SLR just to get to grips with focusing etc which would be alot more economically viable than perhaps the latest DSLR camera. If you like the hobby and want to learn more, you could then save up and buy and average(ish) DSLR for about £500-£1000. HTH :)

    hi,
for comparison between camera, try dpreview.com website.
for 100 ish deals, try hotukdeals and search for camera deals.
i like canon cameras cause their pictures are less grainy and real colors.
in general, sony pics look better but their colors are sometimes a bit on the fake side.
for fuji, red is sometimes blown out of proportion.
but whatever you buy, dont buy an unknown brand cause they will just waste your money!
hope this helps! good luck
