Tesco refuse to honour £1 off frozen food voucher coupon

I think the till spits for points are different from the ones OP mentions, as they are for £1 off. I have used till spits for various things in the past (not sure about frozen though) and also extra points coupons sent with clubcard and they have all worked fine.Princess_Coupon wrote: »I have been very lucky it seems I bought a Tesco 1/2 crispy duck and a bag of Tesco crinkle cut chips, don't know about the duck but chips are the same for 2 years so not new, I had 3 frozen food spits for 75 points all different dates and different barcodes till took all 3 :jErmutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.
Encouragement always works better than judgement.0 -
I was flabbergasted when, some time ago, I tried to use a voucher for "any shampoo" against baby shampoo. I was told that it was not classed as shampoo but as a baby product! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

Reading the posts and anecdotes here, much appreciate the feedback.
Makes me feel better to say I have started avoiding Tesco: this morning I stopped off to buy some milk and without thinking walked into Tesco Express (milk 45p a pint). Then I remembered I'm not giving this firm any more money and went a few doors up the road to Nisa - where to my pleasant surprise the milk is 39p a pint. Adds up over a year.
You're right Tesco - every little helps!

Tesco is the only supermarket that makes me want to scream. These coupons are a nightmare I could list loads of refusals ie. salad items don't count as vegetables0

i used mine with no problems.
i bought 4 packs of chicago deep pan pizza... £1 each ,, and 1 pack birds eyes chicken nuggets,, £1 each0 -
I had this happen to me too - I had a £2 off frozen food if I spent £8. Bought £15 worth of frozen stuff and then the till refused to honour it. I went straight to customer service and waited (and waited and waited and waited - as they were swapping vouchers for the double the money promotion!) BUT I got my £2 back. The CS lady said that it wasn't specific to Tesco foods - just any frozen foods.... and there was probably a 'glitch'... It has happened to me before but when you are busy, have bought a trolley full of stuff, are with the kids and it's Friday night you tend to think YOU have made a mistake....
I have had other 'till spit' vouchers refused before - once on clothes (because something like tights were 'hosiery' - not clothing:rolleyes:!!) and on stationery (because either sellotape or a folder was a 'home and garden' product )! It really annoys me - which is why I made sure I went for my £2 this week. I think Tesco are taking the p*** when they do this -I buy the stuff anyway so why try to con us with false vouchers.
I have another £2 off of frozen food to use this week.... will be interesting to see what happens ....
I'm glad I saw this thread - I thought it was just me that these things happen to.....:rotfl: :rotfl:
Quite keen moneysaver......0 -
I've had the same problem with the same voucher. They refused mine too.
Tesco vouchers are becoming a pain as they hardly ever take the ones they send out to me and always seem to have some reason or the other to refuse them.0 -
To be honest, as a Tesco Manager I would have accepted that coupon. It may not have scanned through the till, but there are a couple of things I could have done to make it go through the till. I'm surprised that they never put it through anyways, for the sake of £1 and keeping a customer, I know I would have.0
