Jamespir, this is what I bought in the way of frozen, yes there is a Birds Eye in there, but again the voucher does not make clear you need spend on Tesco branded items only - and Tesco claimed that is not the reason for declining, the reason claimed by them being "Great new range" only.

Tesco Frozen Cheesecake £1.09 (how much were these last year, 90p?)
    Tesco Chicken Balti £0.99
Tesco Discount Brands frozen [veg] lasagne £0.95
Tesco Discount Brands frozen [veg] lasagne £0.95
    Tesco Yorkshire puddings £0.43
    Birds Eye Chicken Curry £1.00

to be honest it deos look a little misleading BUT in my tescos theres a freezer and it has on yellow lables new new new to every product so i would belive this is there great nw range but i cant say what everyones tescos is like

I appreciate the posts in response, and the votes in the poll. See, it's not just me that wouldn't guess that what Tesco claim is that the voucher applies to some sort of new range of frozen foods only, and not their existing established lines.

I don't know what vouchers you're referring to, but the one I mention they won't accept unless you can somehow track down the "Great new range" and buy £5+ of those. Of course, what the "Great new range" looks like is a mystery - but probably if I set foot in a Tesco again there might be a sign or logo - but that logo or branding is missing from the voucher and so the confusion is very likely.

But I have no plans to return to any Tesco. I just don't like their arrogant attitude.

It was the same tillspit bonus coupons I didn't buy any 'great new range' just meat fish or poultry as listed on the coupon. Definitely not from a new range. I bought richmond frozen sausages and young fish fillets. I read it that it is items like icecream, deserts, vegetables and ready meals that aren't included. Sorry it didn't work out for you. Definitely stick to Asda if you enjoy shopping there.

I would have told them I wasn't going to pay and that they could put all of the food back.

    Hi

I had a £2 off an £8 spend on frozen foods. Just bought what I wanted as I thought all frozen foods counted.

The SA said I had not bought enough but I told him my frozen food came to £9 so had. he checked and agreed and somehow put the coupon through.

I must have been lucky, but now I know there is a problem I won't use the other one I have.

My coupon was refused today even though I had spent £8 on frozen food. I didn't challenge customer services on it though.
This is the first time in 6 weeks that I have shopped in Tesco and it is the last. We have been going to Asda and had a fridge full of food to last us all week for about £40. I was over £70 today and don't have anything like the amount that I have been buying. I will have to do a top up shop during the week. I also found the sell by dates very limiting - Asda has much longer dates and a much better selection of fruit and veg (although Aldi/Lidl are way better than any of them in this respect).

We only have Tesco, Lidl, and Coop (all quite small) and local shops so am forced to shop in Tesco at least some of the time. I have some of these vouchers (the frozen food ones and for other stuff too) but unlikely to use them. I have had a couple of nappy ones (money off Huggies) which was ok when we used sposies for a short time, but as we are back with real nappies again we don't need any more nappies (I stocked up when they were on offer in Tesco when I had planned to ditch the real nappies).
The only vouchers I really use are the Clubcard ones, although was thinking of doubling up for clothes (to use at another store off island as ours does not really sell clothing here- too small!).
I stocked up on some bits in Asda (Perth) when I was away south and think I will do that again (only on a larger scale) next time. Their stuff is cheaper and just as good/better than Tesco.

I had problems using my voucher on Thursday night, so wasn't best pleased.

Will be doing the same as OrkneyStar and topping up when I'm next on the mainland.

There definitely seems to be a problem with these vouchers, they're very hit and miss. Most don't go through, only one i did see go through was when someone bought 2 of those bernard matthew turkey joint things and 1 other cheap item neither of which would be in a new range as they've been selling them for years!

I've had tesco vouchers refused for no apparent reason on "free from", organic, alpro and probably other things too. I don't shop there anymore unless I'm after a bogof or sale item. Their rocketing prices (eg sunflower seeds 45p to £3.20 now down to £2 odd but about 75p in Lidl) peed me off. So when I do cruise for bargains I make sure I'm not lured into buying something ordinary that I can get for the same price in Asda etc just to satisfy myself.
