Callcredit letter.

in Credit cards
Hi, i can't find where to put this but i recently wrote to Callcredit asking for my paper credit file for £2.
I got a reply today that i don't really understand. They say that after checking thier records there is no information held in my name at the address i supplied & say they can't be of any more assistance.
I have been at the same address for almost 25 years and am on the electoral register.
It seems like a strange response because it's not really revealing anything. They say they hold information on the following information types -
Electoral roll
CCJ's
Bankruptcies
Previous searches
Etc,
But thier response seems to imply they hold none of that information about me including the Electoral roll.
Can anyone make sense of this? Should i be worried or just relieved that not only is there is no adverse data, but no data whatsoever even on the Electoral register?

Mate first lesson here, forget Call Credit - they are utter rubbish and to be honest the data they hold wouldn't affect you as no1 uses them for their searches.
You need to ask yourself, do you have any credit? If not then maybe they don't hold anything, failing that write to to ICO and complain. Ive currently got a live complaint in cos they refuse to send my SAR without a signature - i warned them that the DPA has no provision for me to sign and they are in breach, they didn't act so i've reported them and claiming the statutory £5k compo which I doubt i'll get of course!2010 - year of the troll

Thanks For reply.
I do indeed have credit yes, and Equifax shows all of my accounts. I have often read that you should check all 3 main agencies so thought it was worth trying out in case they did have any nasty little surprises.
By the way, i forgot to mention they kept my cheque even though they don't hold any information about me.
Well at least i can assume no news is good news i guess.0 -

They are a joke, to be honest keep their letter and report them to the ICO - I would and also demand your cheque back. I recently reported them cos they insisted I sign my SAR request - i'm like why? You don't have my signature so what can you compare it with? You do not need it and the law says you don't need it.
I got a reply saying ' the law is wrong, we are right'. At which point I realised I was dealing with monkeys and went straight to ICO...
