Spent a fortune this week as its DS1's birthday but as that was budgeted for i won't count it as i knew it was going to happen anyway.
So for personal spend £5 on bus fares to the hospital and back, Bought eight tomato plants out of wilkos for 80p and then spent another £5 on more tomato plants. Feel pee'd off with myself though as i thought they were £1 each not £2.50.:o

Hopefully i'll last till the end of week without buying anything.

Glad you had a good night out ETO

Thanks pp and kezlou, it was a lovely night.

Anyway have spent again today, bought couple of small pics for the house (trying to sell it), new door mat, and....

Got some wedding invitations, and excuse me while i just do some showing off, got 50 invitations (marks and sparks end of season) for £1.20. They should have been £3.50 for 10, down to 49p for 10, when i got to the till they were another 50% off. 10 invites for 24p. i am so pleased with myself. :j :j :j had looked at so many but could not justify £150 etc. and i wanted to make them but couldnt do it for cheaper than that.

And have now got my 3 bridesmaid dresses :j and.... for half what i had budgetted. :j :j

pleased with above even though i have to add another £7.37 to my weekly spends.

Well done ETO sounds like you will have a super MSE wedding.

I received an invite to a uni friend's wedding today just need to do the numbers now to see how much the trip will cost. Also the invite had lots of useful information about accomodation but no RVSP card  so not sure what to do guess I will have to buy one to send back.

Spends for me today were £3.20 on baked potato for lunch, £2.80 on bus fares as I was being lazy. Oh and nearly forgot £2.50 on snacks at work. Fingers crossed for being on budget this week.

    Hi pointypenguin

I'd like to declare £5.40 for this week please and go for another £10 next week. I've got the week off work so shouldn't find it a problem as there are no decent local shops and I don't plan to go into town.

The only reason I'm sticking to this challenge is that £10 a week is all I can afford to spend on myself at the moment (due to "economic downturn").:(Anything above and over this would have to go on the credit card - which is not a good idea and is why I have a credit card debt to clear.

Have a great long weekend everyone, here's to another low spend week!
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • I lost track of my amount for this week after my society meeting last night so I've subtracted the change in my purse from my total to find I've spent £25.50 this week! Bit more than planned by now. :o

Hi all, my total for the week was £9.95 of the £15 budget I had allowed myself ( £5.20 today on a chicken pakora and 2 cans of Irn Bru cos I deserved it after the day I had!!!). First time I've done the weekly spend challenge and must stay it really did motivate me not to spend :D

Not joining for next week as I am off for the week and plan on enjoying myself but will definitely be back the week after!

    Have a good weekend all!
