(sorry that was a bit OTT wasnt it ????)
Don't hold back!!! ha ha. I know I don't need one, and I don't even want one. I just wanted to check in case it had some purpose that I was missing. It seems pretty pointless to me.0 -
OH has just txt me.. Rhys' last blood gases have come back good. He's looking less swollen on his legs too and he's still "peeing for England".
What we need now is for him to carry on peeing which shows that the odema(?) is coming out and he'll be less swollen, inside and out. If he has less swelling inside, his bowels will work better (hence the nappy being encouraging this morning) and he'll be able to process more milk so they can up the feeds (currently on 1.5ml an hour!) which will get more protein into him which in turn will help the swelling go down and get the fluid out of his lungs, building up to weaning him off the ventilator again.
Sorry if that all seems like waffle - it's okay to understand but hard to repeat back out to someone else!
Heading back to the hospital soon.. Might try to come home for an hour a day for a bit of normality. Will do it in relay with OH so there's always one of us at the hospital.
Catch up soon. Will keep Sami up-to-date in the meantime. Love to all xx
Hugs t you all xx:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -
Fair enough Sami!!! But it's good enough for me anyway!
I am trying to refrain from putting too much in my Mothercare basket at the moment! More questions - but is a nappy stacker worth it at all? I would have thought it's just something that looks nice and tidy, but does it make life easier in any way?
SM - I know it's easy to say, but you can't change what's happened so there is no point in getting yourself upset about it. It's only you who is suffering. Leave it until your friend contacts you and then make your point when you are calmer. And have some chocolate or ice-cream! x
Make sure you get some nursing vests if u plan to BF they come highly recommended
Nappy stacker completely useless IMO My nappies stay in the plastic thing they come in on a shelf of the changing station0 -

DD is upset, despite reassurances from me that she did the right thing.
I feel really stressed at the minute, and have noticed after rows with DH that my bleeding (which is still trickling) trickles a bit heavier.
Im trying not to cry because it just gives me thumping headaches. I keep telling myself this will soon be over.
I really dont think I will be out of hospital much longer, im trying to enjoy what time I have left with the kids before I go back in, but all the tension and rows is making it hard.0 -
Good to hear from you Mrs Tine. With every birth story I'm one step closer to telling mine!
Went for a look at my birthing centre this afternoon and they confirmed that I am a suitable candidate! I didnt really want to see it to be honest as I just felt that if I wasnt happy with it I would just spend my last few weeks worrying about it. Anyways I'm glad we had a look as it has really put me at ease. The rooms are a lovely pink colour with a birthing pool and ensuite toilet and shower (with seat). They have birthing balls, beanbags and mats too. There is also a little kitchen with everything in it. Its all one to one care and the MWs I met seemed lovely. Someone gave birth whilst I was there and it all seemed so calm.
I am really really hoping that everything goes okay so I can go there. They also release you between 6hr and 24hrs after the birth so I would hope to go home the same day.
We fitted our car seat today and OH spent ages making sure it was level!
Gosh I'm a baby bore already!! xxxProud Mummy to Leila aged 1 whole year:j0 -
