On the cooking front, I've been experimenting since I got so knackered with the concept of once a month cooking, but I've been going for the recipes that just need you to marinate things rather than pre-cook. So every few weeks I buy lots and lots of chicken, beef and pork (so far), with things like lazy ginger, lazy garlic etc and spend about an hour making the marinades, and putting the marinaded meat in the freezer, or putting together things like meatloaf which don't require any cooking. Marinated meat in a freezer bag takes up no room at all in the freezer, can be defrosted within an hour by popping in the bag in a bowl of cold water (or if organised take them out in the morning), then 30 mins in the oven and its done.
I've literally been able to make a couple of months worth of evening meals in about 2 hours work in total, and all I need to do each night is pop them in the oven, boil some rice or pasta or put a baked potato on if very lazy, and some supermarket salad or frozen veg. Tea on the night takes no more than 5 mins effort, and even my OH could do it with one hand tied behind his back when bubs arrives.
For lunches, I made up a whole loaf of sandwiches with different fillings, intermixed them so that no two flavours were next to each other in the bag, and when I'm short of time I stick one straight from the freezer into a toastie bag in the toaster and lunch is ready in 3 minutes. Or I zap some soup in the microwave. Again, I plan to do the same when bubs is born.
The only thing I plan to buy to make this a little easier for post bubs is maybe a rice cooker, so I can pop the rice or pasta in it and leave it do its work and keep rice warm if necessary probably while bubs is being bathed or fed, and all OH would have to do then is dish up for us both when he gets in from work.
Hope this might help anyone feeling time challenged!0 -

Rhys is responding to her n OH's voices and touch:T
She woke up at 4:30am bleeding, went to hosp, monitored for 2hrs, had a big bleed and was rushed into theatre. It took 25mins of resus to get him going which is why he's had/having brain scans.
The registrar is using pics of her placenta as a teaching aid because the condition is rare (she's only the 3rd case he's seen in 10yrs)
She sends her love and thanks for kind thoughts, I'll update as n when I get any0 -

Thanks for the update on Elle Sami... Next time you talk to her, can you send our love... I've tried to email but it's bounced back... Don't know if it's because I was doing it from the iPod or just my emails playing up...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
