My mum has a Dell Dimension 1100 that needs formatting and windows reinstalling. She bought it second hand a few years back and has no discs with it.She has the genuine windows key and COA so a loan XP disc will sort the operating system.Unfortunately she has no drivers disc. She tried to download them from the Dell site but it appears you have to be a customer to access downloads.Dell won't help her on the phone as she was not the original owner. Is there anywhere else she can get the drivers from?

You should find a 'Service Tag' number on the Dell's case, just enter it here - http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?~ck=ln&c=us&l=en&lnki=0&s=gen
You can also download from here - http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&Service!!!!!&SystemID=DIM_CEL_1100&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=0 -

You'll need to download them individually and put them on a disc or pen drive, but you don't need to be a customer0 -

You could also try holding down Ctrl + F11 on boot up which may give the option to reset to factory settings; which will auto format, install xp, drivers and some software progs.0

Thanks for the help all.It seems this was a cockup on my part.I didn't realise I had to open each individual component before instructing it to download.I had originally clicked the "download all" button just expecting it to do that. When nothing happened that was when I presumed you had to be a customer.
Drivers all downloaded and burnt to disc ready for my mum. Thanks again.0
