does anyone know if your partners beneifits stop, and the other person is on dla can he or she still claim for rent,council tax etc off their own .

Why have they stopped? Income too high? In hospital? Other?

Your Student Loan and Maintenance Grant are counted as income for means tested benefits. (Assuming this enquiry is fo you.)

it is not for me , my niece is on dla and her hubby was on benefits, they were stopped because he was working part time and went over hours allowed, but l am more worried how she will manage, and yes l do agree he is wrong to have done it .

If he's working more than 16 hrs a week they will be able to claim working tax credits I believe. As they live as a couple they would need to claim as a couple for other benefits. Always worth while applying for them, they can only say no.
