Hi, thanks for all your replies. My car is a Peugeot 206, I will take it back to get the garage to look at it again.0

Happens in a very short time, if you leave the car to stand after it's been washed.;)
But by your comment I'd guess your a woman.:pHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

To be entirely accurate, replace 'woman' with 'person who does not know all that much about car brakes'. After all, men are not magically born with knowledge of how cars work and plenty of women out there understand perfectly.0 -
Worth noting that if it is indeed worn pads scraping on the brake discs then the quicker you get it to a garage the less likely you are to need to replace the discs (expensive) in addition to the pads (cheap)0

its a 206, pads and discs can be got for fairly cheap, i got front pads and discs for gf's 206 for £30. and half decent ones too....work permit granted!0 -
It's still cheaper to do pads only. This is supposed to be a site about saving money after all.
Don't forget the labour cost, especially if the op is female because many garages work on the same presumptions as Chippy's posts and will try to charge for 4 hours labour to change a set of discs.0 -

well luckily we are here to enlighten the lady, if changing pads on a 206 takes 1 hour then another 5 mins will replace the discs.
its a personal choice (unless discs are totally worn out) but at that price for full pads and discs then i think its madness not to change the discs while your in there....work permit granted!0
