Best Possible Car - Advice Please

They feel a lot quicker than they sound, both cars come well specced (most C4's have Cruise Control as standard, which is ideal for your motorway miles). The engine boasts a combined MPG of 64.2 in these cars! Don't overlook these for the badge. They may depreciate a little more than rivals, but this will mean you can get a 2 year old example for your money, so it will still have warranty, but the extra you spend on depreciation is more than going to be saved in what you won't be putting in the fuel tank.
How can you have the name MotorIndustryExpert and advise someone to have a !!!!!! 307 !!!!!!...?!
For 5-7000 quid I'd be looking at something like a mile muncher car such as a Volvo S60.0 -

I did not advise this car because cost saving (fuel economy) was important, and so was size. Read past posts.Best Regards,

Cos I'm fed up reparing the sodding things...
I stopped buying Laguna's for stock about 4 years ago. I also stopped buying 607's 2 years ago.
I still buy 307's though only if they come cheap as I know i'll probably spend 400 putting it right...0 -

I am on my 3rd and would never have any other car.
They aren't anywhere near as good as they used to be pre 94. The better option now is Skoda which are based on the same platform, use the same bits, and they are built to a far superior standard in Mlada Boleslav Czech Republic. Skoda are consistently above VW in the JD league tables, and often at the top. They are currently at the top above Lexus.

Given your budget i'd suggest a Kia Ceed, it'll still have 5 years manufacurers warranty left.
Given your mileage i wouldn't worry whether petrol or diesel.
And i agree with Harveybobbles...don't go anywhere near a French thing.0 -

Correct, My mate has had 2 Citroen Berlingo's, 2006/2008, both have had serious ongoing problems.
Citroen agents have been useless in fixing them.0 -
Hi
If you want a car that offers both quality and reliability go for either the Kia Ceed, Hyundai i30 or Mazda 3. All of these cars will prove to be bombproof in terms of reliability and suit your requirements.
Do not go anywhere near French or Italian cars. Ignore what people say that they are getting better, they are not and thats why they are so cheap to buy used because no one wants them.0
