switching drive partition names over?

ok more thoughts for your wonderfull minds
and yes its on win 7 again
ok so my drve is partitioned with vista with like 20gb on drive C and win 7 rc1 on drive D with 380gb, as you can guess im using win 7 witht the bootloader pointing to it to automatically start after just 3 second (so in the unlikely event i need to use vista i can still) but its a minor thing but annoying, i want the win7 drive tobe called c so in my computer its listed first as i keep clicking drive c out of habit
so can i use the disk management to safely change over the c and d drives to the other respective partitions so win7 will now be drive c and vista drive d
or will this cause issues
if sop then what do i need to do to correct it, i dont mind reinstalling etc as i have no data on it yet of importance:P
btw i know HOW to switch the names but not if i should! just to save you from posting long tutorials on disk management

no.
disk management won't let you remove a drive letter from the system volume while windows is running.
it would be best to do a reinstall and put win7 on first & vista 2nd0 -
Not worth doing either. The drive's letter is an environment variable, changing it could mess up quite a few programs.Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.0

surely that wont matter if i do a full re install?
and secondly the vista came preinstalled, may sound stupid but ive never done it:p so how do i get vista on to a disk so i can then uninstall it and windows 7, install windows 7 back on first and then put vista back on?
is this what that new windows vista recovery disk is in sp1?
i wouldnt have this problem with a non oem version obviously, but ive never done this with a preinstalled oem windows so help please?Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -
Out of interest when you boot to Win 7 does it say it's on C: and Vista is on
, and vice versa when booted to Vista? This is what mine does, and is normal OS behaviour according to the answer I got on the Windows 7 forum. 0 -

no! but thankyou
you reminded me of my blindingly obvious mistake and in turn a blindingly obvious solution
sorry to bother every one
basically you must know how some people have trouble getting windows 7 to recognise the windows vista partition, well you have to allocate it a letter. i just moved everything up keeping vista as c for consistency (im a clean freak) but i can just move it back and call vista d! sorted! plus it cant go wrong seeing thats pretty much how it was before!
