Just got keys but plan is not to move in until a few months. Not sure what to do about phone line. The previous owners had BT line I think.
How do I go about getting connected or would it be best to wait a few months or would they disconnect? DOn't want to be stung with a reconnection fee

Check if you do have a BT line, if so check if it is still connected or not. If the previous occupiers have canncelled then they will try and charge you for reconnection. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Plug a phone in and see if their is a dial tone - check all phone sockets in the house
If their is a tone dial 150 and see if BT or Virgin Media or some other companies automated message comes up
If it is BT/BT reseller dial 17070 to find out your number0
