Can you send Printed Paper Airmail to USA?

I have looked online at Royal Mail website but it's only showing Surfacemail with the Printed Paper option. Someone has bought 2 magazines from me to be sent to USA, weight is a little over 500grams so with packaging it will come in around 550grams.
I have quoted £7 for Airmail which is £5.74 postage for Small Packets or £11 for International Signed For Airmail Small Packets which is £9.04 postage. I always send my magazines in either a cardboard backed envelope or an A4 envelope with extra cardboard in to stop them bending in the post. I have told the buyer that I will automatically refund if postage is less than quoted, do you think that is fair?

yes, you can send anything
just send it as small packet, international signed for
if they ask if there's a letter inside, say no, it adds a load to the cost for some reasonmoney saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

There is definitely a printed paper rate for the US and it will be cheaper than the small packets rate.
Have another look on the Royal Mail site as I'm sure all the weights etc are on there - otherwise ask at the PO
