somewhere to go on my day off

Im off work for my birthday (tuesday) and also off on the wednesday and looking for something enjoyable to do, maybe somewhere to visit. Im based in the north east and dont want to travel too far, have been to edinburgh and york lots of times also visited most of the beaches and lots of places in northumberland. Anyone got any ideas, i would have liked to go to cadbury world but some of it is shut at the moment- is there not a nestle/rowntree equivelant? or anywhere of that nature? we have a car so can travel but not wanting to go too far...
hope you can help im totally uninspired... we are a couple in our early 30's just to give you an idea of places we have enjoyed visiting = guiness museum, alnwick gardens, edinburgh zoo and city, - all suggestions are welcome...

why don't you check Easy Jet etc and find a cheap flight to London and spend the day doing the tourist things there
