How to put a "look here" link in thread

You know when people say look here and you click on the word here and it links to whatever.

Sorry to be ignorant, but how do you do that?

On this subject, there are about 10 posts each day saying "I don't know how to post a short link and can't be bothered to learn".

And about 6 replies saying "use !!!!!!.com" which is NOT the best answer IMHO.

And about 3 posts saying "why don't you post a shorter link" but not saying how!

It's no harder to do it properly (keeping it within the site) than it is to use !!!!!! or makeashorterlink, so I DO wish people would stop recommending it!

And telling newbies off for posting long links isn't very constructive if people don't provide the solution.

Why are people so rude about long links anyway? They work. (Unless you use some daft browser which splits things which run over more than one line).

    Well said MarkyMark

fortunatley the majority of users are very friendy and helpful, but your right its not nice to be told off for not knowing something or making an error, its so much nicer when someone gives you a friendly tip and makes the site a happier place to be ;D ;) :-*
Nobody can make you feel inferior, without your permission ;)
