DMTECH 20" TV / DVD Combi - Tuning problems

I've just bought a DMTech 20" TV / DVD Combi. It has an auomatic tune feature, but unfortunately I cannot get it to pick up any TV signals (I've also tried the manual tune, but it has the same effect) - terrestrial or sky. Both signals come via the coax input to the TV from a loft splitter (via the powered sky output from the back of the decoder. The same signal works perfectly in all other TV's in the house (including testing the same cable on another TV). I do get a picture with the built in DVD and it all seems to work perfectly - so it is something to do with the TV not picking up the picture from the aerial cable.

I noticed a similar problem with a 17" version on the AV forums - but didn't see any real solution. Any help gratefully appreciated.

Check to see if there is a regional setting for the TV reception. I have had Freeview equipment in the past have the factory default set to Germany.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had originally set it to UK. The manufacturer reckons its a TV fault and I should change it. Retailer is OK with this, but I'm not convinced. Cant help but think its something to do with internal tuner design.

No doubt I'll find out later tonight when I try a new one !

I looked at the AVForums posts this morning and the ones I found were describing a firmware issue regarding an audio problem.

Take a note of the firmware on your box and compare and tune the one in the shop.
