Cure for dry, itchy, flaky scalp

I use it on the ears and on my face - just leave it on 10 mins and rinse
You can get nizoral cream on prescription which is great for the ears and face
I need to put inside the ears though, not on the outside - like ear drops.
Pretty sure it was Nizoral - don't want to risk it until I am sure though!0 -

Best to get to a GP and get a formal diagnosis
I do get problems in my ears but thats when my scalp has flared up for a few days. I just use a cottong bud and coat the oouter part of the ear - I dont ever push the bud into the canal and it does help clear it up. When its bad it looks like I have a severe case of dried wax build up - most unsightly esp as I have to wear my hair up at work0 -
I find that whatever I try if it works, only works for a bit then I need to change to something else. This has plagued me throughout my adult life. I have tried Nizoral, Polytar, Head and Shoulders, etc.
I find using a shampoo that doesn't irritate my skin for a month or so and then changing to another that doesn't irritate (like say Body Shop Olive Oil shampoo) then back doesn't cure it but keeps things under control. If I get really irritated I do a hot oil (I am a boy so don't do this sort of thing regularly).
I need to shampoo every day, if I miss a day I get a sore irritated scalp. I think the oil I produce in my own scalp irritates me, not scientific fact just an opinion.
If any of this makes any sense then I am glad.0 -
I have scalp problems from time to time. I can't speak for the paleo diet but I do know that too much sugar, either in the form of direct sugary foods or in the form of too much white bread etc does not help. Stress also does not help.
in terms of treatment, I find a couple of washes with oliatum shampoo sorts it out. I also find avoiding SLS (sodium lauryl or laureth sulphate) helps. These days I'm using aveda scalp therapy shampoo for day to day use.
It's horrible isn't it...0 -

What do you mean by hot oil please?“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.”
