Faulty motherboard since purchase 1 year ago what are my rights?

When I say faulty its a bit confusing to say.
I purchased a motherboard as I can build PCs and have built around 15-20 for various friends and family the last few years with no problems and some have even upgraded parts themselves since then.
I bought a small case motherboard(im using terms a non PC techie can understand lol) and it uses very small thin cables that can connect hard drives and dvd drives etc to the board.
The fault is that pretty much everytime I remove the cable from the board it smaps off the plastic and I have to gently put it back on as it has about 8 pins that have to be aligned right.
However this time I broke the pins so I cannot use 2 of my devices but the rest of the PC does work ok, and the other 2 I put back on seem to be randomly freezing my pc.
Can I legally get the manufacturer to repair or replace this(A repair should be almost impossible)

I think the only way you could force them to replace is if you could demonstrate that they broke because of bad manufacturing or a design flaw.
It should be much easier to talk to the supplier in a non-confrontational way and see if they offer to help. If you've bought lots of motherboards from them they will probably want to keep you happy.
The other approach might be to contact them, stating that there is a design flaw, and insisting on a replacement - but the danger is that they may refuse, and then you would have to find and pay for an expert to inspect it and conclude that it was faulty. Even with that, you might then have to go via the small claims court to get anything back.0 -
are these sata or ide cables you are talking about0

For the aggravation this will cause (being without the PC whilst it is off for investigation yada yada yada) you would be better off just getting a PCI card with SATA ports on for less than £15
