A Paypal Switch/Solo Question For The Experts.

This has been asked on another forum I use and no one seems to know.

Anyone on here have an inkling?
Had a new switch/maestro card a while back so I've removed the old and and tried to add the new one but keep getting an error message

' This account may not register any further Switch or Solo cards'

Any ideas?? f***ing paypal drives me round the bend sometimes !!

Cheers.

  • I'm not sure about this at all, but if you look up 'Switch' in Wikipedia, its says Switch has been phased out. I have a Maestro card, the Switch replacement, and have never had probs with it.

Is the old one definitely removed? I had the same problem and it was because, despite clicking all the right button etc, it hadn't actually removed the previous card despite initially telling me that it had!

Try emailing Paypal? I emailed them the other day (about something completely different) and had a reply within an hour! I was shocked to say the least. Looks like they are stepping up their customer service

I emailed paypal about this issue some time ago, basically everytime you get a new Maestro aka Switch card from the bank (due to the old one expiring, losing/damaging the old one or the bank introducing new technology and sending out a new card) the 'new' card has a different card number. You have to add it to paypal as a new card, when this happens for the 9th time Paypal will not accept the card and you have to open a new paypal account! I've been with Natwest for nearly 3 years and am already on my 3rd Maestro card so I'm not that far off my 8th and final card that will be allowed :o

    Dear Spookylukey

Thank you for contacting PayPal. My name is Jen and I appreciate the opportunity to help you with your concern today.

I understand that you are enquiring about the maximum number of solo/switch cards that can be added to the PayPal system.

Spookylukey, please be advised that only 8 solo/switch cards can be registered to an account. If you will be adding your 9th card, please open brand new account because the system, would not really accept the registration of that card.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

    Sincerely,
    Jen
